Oral Health Education – Course Overview
The BDA Oral Health Education (OHE) programme is a nationally recognised qualification that equips dental nurses with the knowledge and practical skills needed to deliver effective oral health advice and patient support.
Designed specifically for busy dental care professionals (DCPs), the course is delivered in a clear, concise, and interactive format. Over an initial 8-week period, learners complete 27 modules, 7 quizzes, and a practice test.
Following this, students will begin a Practical Portfolio, applying their knowledge in work setting. You will have approximately 4 months to complete this element. Once your portfolio meets the required standard, you will progress to the final online examination.
Upon successful completion, learners are awarded the BDA Certificate in Oral Health - an approved qualification by the General Dental Council (GDC), developed in collaboration with OHE Southwest.
The full course typically takes between 6–9 months to complete, depending on your start date. With multiple intakes throughout the year, you can begin your studies without long waiting times and benefit from a flexible learning schedule.
Throughout the programme, you will receive full support from Tooth Fairies experienced tutors.
