Phlebotomy

Course Description

Introduction to Phlebotomy Course
This course is tailored for dental professionals looking to build and refine their skills in phlebotomy within a dental practice environment.

Delivered over two days, the programme combines tutor-led virtual learning (Teams) with in-person practical training, guiding participants up to the point of live blood draws.

Each module includes formative assessments to support understanding and track progress throughout the course.
Two certification options available:

Option 1 – Certificate of Attendance
This option is for students attending both Day 1 (tutorial session) and Day 2 (practical session with hands-on training using simulated veins).
This is suitable for students who wish to gain an understanding of phlebotomy and receive the associated CPD hours upon completion of the two-day course.

CPD Hours: 12

Option 2 – Certificate of Competence
This option is for students attending both Day 1 and Day 2, as outlined above, who are also able to complete a Practical Experience Portfolio (PEP) in their workplace following the course.

Following completion of Day 2, students will complete a Practical Experience Portfolio (PEP), recording supervised clinical practice across a range of patients. Ongoing guidance and feedback are provided by a suitably qualified, GDC-registered dental professional acting as a workplace mentor. The final summative assessment is based on successful completion of the PEP, demonstrating clinical competence and reflective practice.

This is suitable for students who wish to develop their understanding of phlebotomy and actively apply the skill within their workplace.

CPD Hours: 20

Course Fee: £299.00
